Today wraps up the first week of Summer Arts Camp 2006 at the CAC! Junior Young Masters, our camp for 5 and 6 year olds, is a week-long introduction for our younger artists. The kids have been taking works by the "old masters" and creating their own masterpieces.
Interpretations of Degas and Kandinsky from our "young masters" adorn the walls of the art wing.
One of our young masters holds up her piece to be photographed. Using pastels in the soft style of Degas, you can see her little purple fingers holding the picture as she peeks out from behind. Art is only really fun when it is REALLY messy!
Here, one of our Young Masters interprets The Scream by Edvard Munch. They added glow paint to their pieces and watched them light up in the dark! EEK!The next two weeks of Summer Arts Camp will be for kids age 7 to 12. Be sure to come back next week to see the fun things they'll be creating!
