Wrapping up another terrific year of Arts-in-Education, the CAC was tickled pink to host Lucas Miller and KidProv last week. Lucas Miller entertained area third, fourth and fifth graders in the CAC Mayborn Auditorium. His silly songs, hats and puppets really wow'ed the kids (and adults, too!). KidProv, an improv comedy troupe (bet you couldn't guess that from the name, huh), came and did a show for Troy Middle School kids on Tuesday before taking their schtick to Belton and Temple campuses.

Each year, the CAC puts on a series of programs aimed to introduce the arts to area kids. Arts-in-Education draws approximately 11,000 students over the course of fifty-six performances.

These guys were total goofballs. Before the show, they struck a "Last Supper" pose for the camera.

From the very beginning of the "performance" the kids were excited and fired up as the guys came out into the audience to interact.

Without a lot of introduction, the comics had the kids jump right in to improv games. In this picture, four Troy middle-schoolers played off of one another as they told a "story" one word at a time.

The CAC was pleased to welcome several visitors from the community to both shows. After the visit, Rob Marshall of the Charter Group said, "I have been a huge advocate of the CAC for a long time, and all of the good things the organization does for our community are plain to see, but being exposed to events like this in person truly shed light on the value you all are adding to our youth."

The Arts-in-Education series takes a break over the summer but will start back up in September. The 2006-2007 AIE roster includes acts like Temple native, Eric Paslay, two shows from Zach Scott Theatre, Darcie Deaville's "Twinkle, Twinkle Fiddle Star", Pollyanna Theatre Company's "Too Many Frogs" and the Biscuit Brothers.
